Who knew? Apparently, if you touch a meteorite you will be granted special powers.
And you never know what these may be - it could be the ability to run super-fast, create thick ice at will or become very very strong.
Mind you, the pups of Paw Patrol have already got a leg up because they speak perfect English.
Yep, you cannot take Charles E. Bastien's animation too seriously but it is all-action for its 42 minutes.
Anyway, Chance Hurtsfield provides the voice for Harold, a young boy who also benefits from touching the rock from space and sets about wrestling it away for good so he can rule the town.
So, Ryder (Jaxon Mercey), the ten-year-old who leads the pups, tries his best to thwart the plans of Harold and his uncle, Mayor Humdinger (Ron Pardo).
Thus, police dog, Chase (Justin Kelly) who is having a crisis of confidence, snow rescue dog Everest (Berkley Silverman) and the others combine their new-found powers to win the day.
This is pacy big-screen entertainment for young children and is linked to a successful Canadian series on the Nick Jr. channel.
At the cinema, it was accompanied by an episode of Top Wing and an instalment of Butterbean Cafe.
I didn't have the pleasure of either but don't feel as if I missed much.

Did you know? Each pup in Paw Patrol is a specific breed of dog except for Rocky who is described as a “Mixed Breed”. Chase is a German Shepherd, Marshall is a Dalmatian, Skye is a Cockapoo, Rubble is a Bulldog, Zuma is a Chocolate Labrador, Everest is a Husky and Tracker is a Chihuahua.
