Well, at least Netflix justified Mrs W and me not driving to London to watch this Turkish comedy.
I discovered Öldür Beni Sevgilim under the title of Kill Me If You Dare and settled down in the cosiness of my own home.
The surroundings didn't enable me to enjoy it any more than I otherwise would have done but at least I only had 15 steps to go to my bed rather than 120 miles.
Senol Sömnez's film stars Seda Bakan as Demet and Murat Boz as Okan -  a couple who propose idyllically but find that the sheen has worn off almost completely after five years of marriage.
However, after they win the lottery, they decide that they will stay with each other come what may.
Inevitably, they are tested to the limit - not least by their own beliefs that they are trying to bump each other off.
Yep, farce is sparked by an avalanche of misunderstandings which supposedly result in crazy or, indeed, hilarious scenarios. unfortunately, they are neither.
The comedy is meant to be heightened when they go on holiday to a five-star resort and are tempted into a bagful of potential dangerous pursuits.
Bizarrely, their respective best friends are also at the resort and are tasked with ensuring the husband and wife eliminate each other.
Kill Me If You Dare follows in the path of so many Turkish comedies - the husbands are uncaring and lazy and the wives are neurotic, resulting in inevitable conflict.
Thus, there is much screeching and seeing the worst in each other, no matter how unfair the judgments.
But, somehow beyond this thick veneer of loathing, love continues to beat and the conclusion is utterly predictable.
The consistent saving grace in Turkish movies are the beautiful backdrops.
That is again the case in Kill Me If You Dare so, while it didn't inspire me to want to watch more of these type of comedies, it prompted me to consider making our first visit to Turkey for a holiday.

Reasons to watch: If you are into Turkish farces

Overall rating: 4/10

Did you know? According to a report by the Turkish Statistics Institute in 2016, 45 per cent of young Turkish females aged between 15 and 24 consented to arranged marriages while 35.3 per cent had married husbands of their own choice.
