10 Most Attractive Women in a 2019 Film

Hey readers, hope you're all well and not going stir-crazy due to the lockdown!

I've decided to make lemonade out of lemons, and use this mandated stay-at-home time to spend more time blogging, something which I have done embarrassingly little of in 2020.

Thus, what better way to transition into blogging than by compiling one of this blog's yearly staples: most attractive women in a 20XX film?

Here is 2018's list, and as has become my habit, I will record next to each lady whether she was present in the previous year's list, or if she is a recent obsession!

10. Lili Reinhart, Hustlers (new entrant)

09. Zendaya, Spider-Man: Far from Home (new entrant)

08. Margaret Qualley, Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (new entrant)

07. Park So-dam, Parasite (new entrant)

06. Alexandra Shipp, Shaft (↑ 5 places from last year)

Shipp caught my eye when she gave a very likeable performance as 'Abby' in 2018's Love, Simon (my fourth favourite film of 2018) and she was as head-turning, if not more so, as spunky doctor 'Sasha' in the Shaft re-boot.

05. Billie Lourd, Booksmart (new entrant)

Best cinematic entrance of 2019, hands down.

04. Florence Pugh, Little Women (re-entrant from 2017)

What a year 2019 was for Flo Pugh. She was so charismatic and moving in Fighting with my Family, and by far the best thing about Midsommar. But the finest performance she gave last year was as 'Amy March' in Little Women. Playing a character that has been presented less than sympathetically in the existing film adaptations, Pugh did the seemingly impossible and injected pathos and vulnerability into a character who up until then, had seemingly only had one trait: bratty.

For her work in the film, Miss Pugh picked up a deserved Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, looked damn pretty in the 19th century period dresses, and got to make out with Timothée Chalamet (this blog's no. 1 crush, even more so than Gary Cahill).

Yeah, Flo smashed it.

03. Jennifer Lopez, Hustlers (new entrant)

02. Naomi Scott, Aladdin (new entrant)

She looks like a real-life Disney princess. I can't think of a more empathic compliment to pay than that over someone's looks.

01. Diana Silvers, Booksmart (new entrant)

Booksmart was all kinds of fun: a hilarious, pop culture-savvy, dorky, filthy comedy about sisterhood and transitioning from High School to college. Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever were both fabulous in it and I adored their chemistry.

But I won't lie, the thing that struck me the most about this movie was Diana Silvers as 'Hope', a classmate of the two who is initially quite cruel to Dever's 'Amy'. But in a house party scene, Hope shows her softer side, and the audience realises her seemingly caustic exterior may have had a touch of tsundere about it.

Silvers plays the 'bitch hot girl' role brilliantly, fleshing her out so she's far more than just a trope, and such is her innate beauty and appeal that she manages to be the only person in the world who can make a jacket with fringes look alluring.

New girlcrush, hello!
