BBFC advice: Contains strong sex, nudity, sexual violence, domestic abuse, discrimination

Wednesday February 16 will not be remembered by me for watching Patryk Vega's Love Sex and The Pandemic at Coventry's Showcase Cinemas.
Instead, calling an ambulance to revive my very ill father will be my fixed memory.
I was called by Mrs W after I had watched about 90 minutes of the Vega's movie to attend to dad and make sure help was on its way.
Thankfully, he is on the mend but I have to report I have felt no inclination to pay again to see the final half an hour of this lamentable picture.
Indeed, I could have easily walked out on it without having to deal with a family emergency.
From what I saw, the movie focuses on the raucous sex lives of three feisty middle-aged female pals and a rather less experienced younger male friend.
Kaja (Anna Mucha) is a confident and ambitious journalist who creates a honeypot for a therapist who sells the idea that he can help fellas catch any woman.
Olga (Zofia Zborowska-Wrona) is a strong prosecutor and a declared feminist who then falls hook, line and sinker for an Arab who just wants her for rumpy-pumpy.
And Nora (Małgorzata Rozenek-Majdan) is a photographer who is recovering from a brain tumour and finds rehabilitation in taking pornographic photos.
Meanwhile, their pal (Sebastian Dela) goes from shy and retiring to a stripper who beds any client who offers.
That's pretty much it. Lots and lots of sex but not much love. A storyline as thin as a pencil with gratuitous body parts thrown in.
And then the pandemic strikes and they all go to church.
What happens after that is a mystery to me because I rushed off to see my dad but, from what I have read I didn't miss much.

Reasons to watch: Bawdy sex comedy
Reasons to avoid: Very shallow

Laughs: None
Jumps: None
Vomit: Yes
Nudity: Yes
Overall rating: (from what I saw) 2/10

Did you know? At the point of writing, 111,056 people had died in Poland from Covid-19.

The final word. Patryk Vega (on sex scenes): "You have to establish the choreography, decide what to do, set the boundaries, because there cannot be a situation in which the actor will be surprised. We arrange such things in advance - what we agree to, what it looks like. We wanted the actors to feel comfortable." Interia
