Am I too old to be attempting to watch every movie release?
It is a question which occurs as I see films such as Bodies Bodies Bodies - a picture which surely cannot appeal to anyone over the age of 17.
I found this so-called comedy-drama neither humorous nor thrilling. I am astonished by its critical acclaim.
Its only saving grace is an unusual and unexpected ending which prompted me to raise my rating from two to three out of ten.
Halina Reijn's film suggests eroticism in its opening scene in which lovers, Sophie (Amandla Stenberg ) and Bee (Maria Bakalova) are in a passionate embrace.
But that's the last of the smooching and, instead, it lines up a country house party which goes horribly wrong.
Sophie introduces her girlfriend to her less-than-enthusiastic pals as they prepare to see out a coming hurricane in style.
The atmosphere is tainted, however, by jealousy and anger over past misdemeanours.
Thus, the killing starts and suspicions begin and misplaced retribution is meted out.
The truth is, however, that I simply didn't care who lived or died. The characters are all so shouty and superficial that it was a relief when they met a bloody end.
Indeed, I was rather pleased when Bodies Bodies Bodies was all over.
I was definitely not its target audience and its only positive for me was that it was mercifully short.

Did you know? The game Bodies Bodies Bodies is based on Body Body (or Murder In The Dark) where players run around in a dark room while the murderer "kills" players by tapping them, hoping to get away with killing the entire group.

The final word. Halina Reijn: I used to play the game with my friends a lot. We call it Werewolf... or mafia or whatever. And I would always end up being very emotional about it and feeling left out and all of that. So it was like, "Oh, my God, this is such a great vehicle to talk about human nature and group behaviour." Screen Rant
