Movies of The Year - 2022

Dear everyfilm followers, I am sorry.

I'm afraid that during 2022 I have given a sub-standard service, failing even to watch and review one movie a day (well, only just - 363).

This is well below previous years and 300 pictures worse than my record in 2012.

There have been extenuating circumstances - the beginning of the year was still shrouded in the pandemic and we were still very tentative about going out.

Then halfway through the year, Mrs W. was diagnosed with breast cancer and her three-weekly sessions of chemotherapy have meant she can't mix in crowds for much of the time, so cinema visits have been limited.

Thankfully, she only has one more session and although there is more treatment to come, we are hopeful relative normality won't be too far away.

Nevertheless, I haven't missed any of the box office hits nor Oscar hopefuls, so I hope you agree my top 20 isn't too bad.
