Bravo, Leicester Odeon. For the past two weeks family events have prevented me from seeing the sporadic screenings of this Polish comedy but I finally ticked it off because of its rescheduling, 30 miles down the road.
My early season enthusiasm means that I have spent a lot of time in Leicester over the past couple of weeks because of the diversity of the movies screened there.
Long may both my commitment and the variety continue.
In my experience, Polish pictures tend to have very particular quirks and Michal Rogalski's movie is no exception.
It centres on the members of a long disbanded heavy metal band who come together at the funeral of a former guitarist.
The wake ends up badly when one of the band members (Piotr Zurawski) gets up to speak only to be shouted down by his estranged friends.
However, the occasion sparks nostalgia in the group's singer (Pawel Domagala) and he becomes transfixed on a reunion.
Needless to say the latter is not as easy as it sounds - he not only needs convince his old pals but also their respective partners.
And then comes the well-played question of musical integrity when it comes to accepting gigs.
Gotowi Na Wszystko. Exterminator's gags don't always hit the mark but there were a few chuckles from me and plenty of laughs for the sparse audience whom I presume were native speakers.
Domagala, Zurawski, Krzysztof Czeczot and Piotr Rogucki spar as the band members while being at the mercy of wiser women in the shape of Agnieszka Wiedlocha, Aleksandra Hamkalo and Dominika Kluzniak.
It isn't nearly as heavy as its metal-music background might suggest. In fact, those who fancy a light dish may well be sated.
