TAYLOR SWIFT - THE ERAS TOUR
Cert 12A
180 mins
BBFC advice: Contains infrequent strong language

There was a day when admitting that I like Taylor Swift's music would have created a swell of mockery from my mates.
Nowadays, I am too old to have pretensions about being cool. Instead, people just accept I am a bit eccentric.
So, I'll go for a double whammy and confess to enjoying her Eras Tour show from the So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles.
This wasn't any old concert - it was an epic show with dozens of costume changes and incredible backdrops.
On the downside, Sam Wrench's film only offers what appears on stage with fans' reactions. There is no history of Swift or backstage preparations.
It is three hours of her music from the early days in Nashville to the more modern, raunchy tunes.
Almost every song focuses on relationships, suggesting she has endured a fair bit of heartbreak.
But our Taylor is no pushover, so several tunes reflect on her kicking metaphorical sand in the face.
The show's choreography is down to the minutest detail, prompting several cool moments, including one where Swift seems to dive under the stage and swim.
These draw gasps from the fans (including adult men) who are already screaming and wowing over their favourite's every move.
Meanwhile, the backing singers double up as members of a brilliant dance troupe while the band look like they are having the time of their lives.
I don't know how she holds such power, but it seems the world is in love with Taylor Swift and, although she is sometimes a bit twee, her gig is extraordinary.

Reasons to watch: If you are a Swiftie

Did you know? The Eras Tour was made up of 151 shows across five continents. It is the highest-grossing tour of all time and the first tour to surpass $1 billion in revenue.

The last word. Taylor Swift: "We met with all the studios and we met with all the streamers, and we sized up how it was perceived and valued. Ultimately I did what I tend to do more and more often these days, which is to bet on myself."
